With more than 106,000 visitors in 2025, the Abbaye Royale de l’Épau confirms its appeal and its major role in the cultural life of the Sarthe region. Owned by the Sarthe Departmental Council, this 13th-century Cistercian monument is a vibrant place where heritage, artistic creation, and nature come together. The 2026 cultural season promises to be rich and open to all audiences: music festivals, photography exhibitions, conferences, workshops, major national events, and immersive experiences will punctuate the year.

Every year in March, Printemps de la Chanson invites around twenty artists or groups to perform in around twenty concerts in different venues across the department, showcasing the diversity of the current music scene.
9th edition of the
Printemps des Rillettes
At various locations in Mamers
From Friday, March 20th to Saturday, March 28th
For its ninth edition, the Printemps des Rillettes in Sarthe is showcasing Mamers, which will become the “Official City 2026.” This event, which is very popular throughout Sarthe, will take place at the same time as the traditional “Trois Jours de Mamers” in partnership with the Union Commerciale et Artisanale. The municipality, the tourist office, schools, retailers, associations, and restaurants are all participating in this celebration of rillettes and invite you to join them.

Mamers en Mars has been spinning its web for over 30 years and has established itself as the leading film event in the Sarthe region and one of the most important in the Pays de la Loire region, attracting nearly 4,000 spectators per edition. Through a selection of unreleased feature films and short films, this European film festival offers a panorama of European cinema today and tomorrow, in the heart of a rural town of 6,000 inhabitants where a passion for cinema is part of the art of living.
