Presentation of a large collection of Sarthe headdresses on marottes.
CLOSED FOR WINTER - REOPENING SPRING 2025
For groups, please contact us by telephone.
PLEASE NOTE: since Saturday 18 May 2024, the Museum has moved to 3 Rue Saint-Sauveur in Fresnay-sur-Sarthe (previously located in Ruelle du Lion).
From the bonnette to the Bise-moi vite and the Galette, discover the different headdresses worn by the women of Sarth since 1800. Explanations are given by lingères who patiently and meticulously restore these lace headdresses, often forgotten and yellowed by time.
There are also demonstrations of bobbin lace.
Booklets in English and German are available, as are games for children.
Free during the European Heritage Days.
