Monts et Marches trail "Histoires géologiques"

  • Interpretation footpath
72130 Saint-Léonard-des-Bois
There are 8 information desks along the way, recounting some of the turbulent episodes in a geological history spanning almost 600 million years.
ATTENTION: the route is temporarily impassable due to a complete overhaul of the signposting. The Saint-Léonard-des-Bois site allows us to retrace the 600 million years of history that have shaped the rocks and the landscape. Two loops can be explored successively or independently, forming a 10km circuit that will take you back in time. Following the pebbles of the Saint-Léonard-des-Bois paths, you'll climb to the summits of the Alpes Mancelles and discover some of the turbulent episodes in a geological history spanning almost 600 million years. Please note that this route takes you through sensitive and protected natural areas (classified site and Natura 2000 site). Please keep to the paths and keep your dogs on a lead.
