On Sunday 24 May 2026 (Pentecost), "Le Bio s'invite à St Léo" and nature is in the spotlight in Saint-Léonard-des-Bois!
On Sunday 24 May, it's all organic in Saint-Léo! The Friends of Saint-Léonard are organising their traditional Fête de la Nature, with 50 exhibitors from fields as varied as food, herbalism, market gardening, arts and crafts and well-being! The Fête de la Nature des Alpes Mancelles has become a not-to-be-missed event in the Sarthe, with a strong theme around the discovery of wild and aromatic plants and their uses!
It's a joyous day celebrating nature, organic produce and traditional skills. Stroll between the stands, discover edible and medicinal wild plants with enthusiasts, taste delicious organic products, and enjoy a friendly atmosphere in the heart of the Alpes Mancelles. You'll also be able to meet professionals and volunteers working in the fields of environmental protection, consumer protection and good ecological practice.
On the programme: farmers' market (herbal teas from Florence Varone des Plantes des Alpes Mancelles, saffron from Lou Safran, Brasserie Mage Malte, Japanese paper jewellery from Camille Lecourt, etc.), hikes, workshops, concert by the Mayenne group Badegna Foli at 3.30pm, relaxing massages with Jean-Baptiste Choisy, etc. More than 50 exhibitors united around a more natural way of life.
Activities planned throughout the day:
- Rando Alpes mancelles: morning hikes from 9am
- Virginie Daniaud: fun talk on the use of plants at 11am
- Anne Vandenberghe: edible wild plant cooking workshop at 11.30am and 2.30pm
- Parc et Géoparc Normandie Maine: activities and discovery of dragonflies along the river Sarthe at 2.30pm
- Concert by the Mayenne group Badegna Foli, featuring African sounds, at 3.30pm
- Karine Martin: group Qi gong session along the River Sarthe at 4pm
- Jardins vent debout: discover permaculture throughout the day
- Auguste Maillot: free access to wooden games throughout the day
- Pierre Angue: advice on climate change from a well-informed nurseryman throughout the day
- Syndicat du bassin de la Sarthe: information on river and tap water quality throughout the day
On-site catering: galettes saucisses, crêpes, cold vegetarian tarts, nettle soup, a range of home-made cakes at the tea bar
