27ème Festival des Métiers d'Art

Set against the stunning backdrop of the Alpes Mancelles, on the banks of the Sarthe, the Friends of Saint-Léonard are organising the 27th edition of their Festival of Arts and Crafts & Traditional Trades, featuring over 100 exhibitors, who will be on hand to share their passion with you and introduce you to their finest handcrafted and artistic creations! - Talented artists and craftspeople: painters, potters, ceramists, soap makers, metalworkers, woodturners, sculptors, basket weavers, creators of decorative objects and jewellery, embroiderers, floral arrangers, leather craftspeople, jewellers… - Rare crafts: saddlers and harness-makers, marquetry artists, cutlers and blacksmiths, basket weavers, copper enamellers, stained-glass artists, illustrators, lace-makers… They’ll explain their work, give demonstrations and offer their finest pieces for sale. - Guest of honour Florence Motte: sketchbook artist and watercolourist, who will present a beautiful exhibition on the theme ‘When Normandy’s heritage meets the art of watercolour’. - Literature area with 20 authors and publishers signing their works. - The large wooden play area: games created and run by Auguste Maillot; free to play, open to all ages. - From 1 pm, three bands will provide the festival’s musical atmosphere: Où sort le soleil (folk duo), Molokoye (Creole brass band) and Four Young (Neil Young tribute band).
