In the superb setting of the Alpes Mancelles, on the banks of the Sarthe, the Friends of Saint-Léonard are organising the 26th edition of their Festival des Métiers d'art & métiers anciens, with over 100 exhibitors on hand to share their passion with you and show you their finest crafts and artistic creations!
On the programme:
- Painters, potters, ceramists, soap-makers, blacksmiths, woodturners & engravers, designers of decorative objects and jewellery, embroiderers, lace-makers, macramé artists, flower arrangers, leatherworkers, blacksmiths, cutlers, basket-makers, jewellers ...
will be explaining their work, giving demonstrations and showcasing their finest creations.
- Our Guests of Honour "Man-Athan" will be demonstrating their skills by sculpting and welding with 4 hands before your very eyes.
- The literature area, where 20 authors and publishers from the West will be signing their works.
- The large wooden games area: games created and animated by Auguste Maillot, with free access for young and old.
- All day long: workshops, demonstrations, exhibitions
- Throughout the afternoon, dancers and musicians will be on hand to liven up the festivities: the folk group "Terre Baugeoise" will be performing traditional dances from Anjou, followed by a concert by the pop-rock group DONOMA from 4.30pm.
Food and refreshments on site and in the village.
Admission: €5 / free for children under 12.
