Screening of the film "Furcy, né libre" as part of the Printemps des poètes festival, on the theme of "Liberté, force vive".
To mark the 28th Printemps des Poètes, Festivals en Pays de Haute Sarthe and the local libraries are organising a number of events!

On Monday 23 March at 8pm, come along to the Salle André Voisin in Fresnay-sur-Sarthe for a screening of "Furcy, né libre", a French biopic/historical drama by Abd Al Malik starring Makita Samba, Romain Duris and Ana Girardot.

The story: Île de la Réunion, 1817. On the death of his mother, the slave Furcy discovers documents that could make him a free man. With the help of an abolitionist prosecutor, he embarks on a legal battle to have his rights recognised.

Inspired by a true story. Adapted from the book "L'Affaire de l'esclave Furcy" by Mohammed Aïssaoui.
